Below are just some of the measures we have implemented in our journey for a more sustainable future:

  • The HDPE pipework that we use within our drainage systems are manufactured using 100% recycled virgin materials.
  • Trialling the use of renewable fossil free Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel to power machinery on site, reducing the use of fossil fuels.
  • Reduction in the supply of materials from overseas, moving the majority of our supply chain to local suppliers within a 40 mile radius.
  • Utilising metal stillages for the delivery of components to site to minimise on-site waste.
  • Increased both on-site and off-site prefabrication of materials, reducing overall material usage.
  • We recycle all our waste materials to reduce the waste that is sent to landfill.
  • Switching from fossil fuel to electric vehicles to carry out site visits and surveys, including installing Vehicle charging stations at our premises.
  • Lighting replaced throughout our premises with energy efficient LED lighting.
  • Plant and equipment is sourced from suppliers local to the sites to reduce transportation.

Sapoflow Limited are on a journey with our key clients to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 in line with UK government requirements. We have recently begun tracking our carbon emissions throughout all our processes, from tender stage through to project completion and beyond. This allows us to monitor where C02 emissions are produced within our works and also within our supply chain, enabling us to evaluate our carbon footprint and identify key areas that can be focused on for further improvement.
